Welcome to our website.

The Ashchurch and Tewkesbury District rail promotion group is a voluntary organisation that supports and promotes Ashchurch for Tewkesbury railway station and community involvement with it.

The station is situated outside the town of Tewkesbury, just off Junction 9 of the M5. It is on the main train line between Birmingham and Bristol and ideally placed for commuters to Cheltenham and Gloucester as well.

The current service is comprised of one train every two hours  in each direction between Worcester and Bristol via Gloucester plus five trains a day to Birmingham with three going in the opposite direction. We are campaigning for more trains to stop at Ashchurch.  Working with train operators and local authorities this has resulted in an extra service on Sundays and an early morning direct train to London.

Officially there are around 91,000 passengers using the station each year. Other stations with similar numbers of passengers have at least an hourly service in each direction.

Providing extra services would not involve a huge cost because one operator, Cross Country, runs three trains per hour in each direction through Ashchurch without stopping.
