Ashchurch Station was orignally a stop on the Birmingham to Gloucester line. It formed a junction between two branches, either side of the main line. One was a loop to Evesham, Alcester and Redditch re-connecting with the main line at Barnt Green. The section between Aschurch and Evesham was closed in 1963.

The second branch ran to Tewkesbury, Upton-Upon-Severn and Malvern. The section between Ashchurch and Upton was closed in 1961 and Ashchurch itself closed in November 1971, despite having been renamed Ashchurch for Tewkesbury.

The station was reopened on 1 June 1997 on the original site.
